Day 30 – Who are you?

Wow, this day is definitely the hardest yet.
So far I've learned that I love my family deeply, and they will always be there for me.
I love being apart of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
To have a firm testimony of the church and all of its teachings, it just flat out amazes me.
Especially in todays world, where there is so much wicked to be found! I'm very glad to be brought up in the family I have that knows the truth.
Right now in my life I'm at a cross road about everything, like always.
You name it! Men (notice I say MEN and not BOYS....), careers, schools, jobs, money! The list goes on and on and on
And it goes on and on and on

I'm at the point in my life where I'm not dating anyone seriously, but maybe I have already met them, and don't know it? Or what if I haven't met them, and I'm in the wrong place in life? I'm still saving to travel to Sweden for the summer! I need a full time job to pay for it completely, but can only find a part time. And who wants to hire me for 5 months? Maybe I should be glad to at least have a job?... THEN I'm having second thoughts about my art major. I'm not passionate about art whatsoever, so is this the right field to go into? Everything I have done in my classes are more tedious than anything. Plus I've been told I have a talent. But are all you people out there telling me that to be nice? What is the truth, really? What job could I possibly have with THAT major? Teach?! Ugh... probably not. And if I stay in art, is Utah State still the best place to stay? Where else would/could I go? What if I worked with people?.... I love people, and talking with them. But what in the heck could I do with that? I work at Golden Corral now and I LOVE all the people that come in. Knowing that I'm serving them, and they are there to enjoy brings me a whole lot of joy. There are very few downfalls to this job, and one of them is cleaning the urinals. Really?! Guys are gross.
Sorry bout my venting, but now you all know what is going on through that little brain of mine.

Day 29 – A picture that can always make you smile

To me this picture never gets old.
I just love my friends, that is all there is to it!
We're crazy, weird, and extremely to-the-max awkward.
Not a lot of people catch onto our humor, which makes everything more awkward of course!

We Party Cuz We Born to Party.

Day 28 – A picture of you last year and now, how have you changed since then?

This is one of my favorite pictures with one of my best friends, and we like to party!
It was the summer before college, and I feel as though we knew NOTHING back then.
We're still the crazy and awkward people we are today, just a little bit more grown up? I guess is a good word.
We've grown a lot in very different ways.
I mean, if we were the same people we were 1.5 years ago, wouldn't that be really sad?
My testimony has grown immensely since I've been out on my own, and I suppose I've learned a couple things here and there.
So I guess I'm trying to say is I've changed, and I'm pretty positive it's a good thing!

Day 27 – A picture of something your afraid of

Lets see.... I'm actually afraid of weird and random things.
In other words, not the usual. For example: spiders, snakes... To tell ya the truth, I kinda like them.
As a child I use to collect spiders our by our mailbox and put them in my moms garden.
Yeah I was a weird child.
Also I would catch garter snakes constantly up at my grandparents house.
Well I guess you could say I'm afraid of.... as of right know I would have to say parasites and men.
Parasites- because I've always had the fear that there is one in my digestive system ever since I went on a cruise to Mexico.
They told us not to drink the water when I was 12, and I accidentally did of course.
It just kinda stuck with me ever since!
Also my freshman year of high school got to me.
My science teacher (EJ) showed a video, which also DISGUSTED me.
To give you a couple of highlights of that awesome video- people who had gone to foreign countries and found their own parasite! Totally disgusting (I know the word "disgust" is used quite frequently, but its the only word I could think of).
So I will save you some memories of the gross-ness of it.

The second thing I listed was men.
Why, you ask?
Everyone I talked to at the end of my senior year of high school thought I would be married within a year of graduating.
Lets just say I have gone on a few dates, and all of them have been within the past couple months.
I just didn't get asked out at all my freshman year, which is fine.
But now I guess you could say I'm definitely a little rusty!
Ok more than a little.
I definitely miss being in a relationship, and having someone to hold and count on.
Dating can be fun, don't get me wrong!
But it also stinks.
Now men are just flat out intimidating. And scary. AND possibly frightening .

Day 26 – A picture of something that means a lot to you.

The fam!
SO.....
I just skipped Day 25, because it was the same as Day 24! I thought that was weird, and I wanted to skip it.
And I did.
Whoever created this 30 Day Blog Challenge was either: 1) not very creative, or 2) ran out of things to blog about. In conclusion I'm not quite sure what happened with Day 25.
This day (which should have been 2 weeks ago I think) is about something that means a lot to me.
I've come down to a total of two things! My family and religion
Without either, I think I would have a very depressing life! I picked this picture, because I think it is hilarious! It was taken quite a while ago, when my mom was still going through chemo and radiation.
Since going to college, I thought I would miss my family a lot, and want to come home a bunch.
My freshman year I did a little bit, but not a whole lot.
THIS year I think I've come home almost every weekend!
All I wanted to do this past year was come home, and be home.
Somehow I've grown closer to everyone in my family, mostly AJ.
My little sister Sam says "Mollie, its because you're going to be a mommy."
Uh, Sam. First of all I'm not even dating anyone serious so it would be kinda hard to do that in the first place.
Second of all, lets focus on dating someone and nothing past that, alright? Thanks.
Did I ever mention how much I love being a member of the LDS church?
I also love knowing the fact that I will live with my family forever. That brings me so much comfort!
I've felt the spirit a lot in my life...
At times its tough to realize the spirit "in the moment", until I step back and think about it. I'm always amazed how God works in our lives, and brings people in it.

Day 24- A picture of yourself and a family member

OK...
I am really bad at keeping this blog up-to-date.
But I had finals, alright? Is that a good enough excuse?....

I love blogging, and I am pretty sure I am WAAAY more addicted than facebook.
I guess another reason I've been procrastinating the end of my 30 day blog challenge, is I don't want it to end.
I've had a blast thinking of random things to blog about, and now I have to think of my own.
Maybe I'll find another challenge? Probably.
I've noticed with this challenge that I love my family, and they were basically all I talk about.

WELLL enough about that, I need to start talkin about my sister!
She is kinda short (well shorter than me), with blonde hair and blue eyes.
She LOVES to accessorize everything, I'm not even joking. Jewelry, hair clips, hats, scarves... you name it! And she's got it.
She is also obsessed with Sims and photo shop... along with facebook :)
She is a sophomore in high school! It's weird, because we're four years apart.... so does that mean I'm getting old? AND she's turning 16 soon. Ugh.
Also if you'd like to give her a kiss on the cheek: she has THE softest and best cheeks in the world.
YEP. I am definitely talking about my sister ANNIE, the middle child.
Love ya sis!

PS- campus smelled like potatoes today.

Day 23 – A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest

What a darling girl.
Lets see.... When I moved to Morgan I was about 4 or 5 years old, Talesha Rhodes was one of my first friends.
Out of all my friends (most of my friendships were made in high school), Talesha has been mine the longest :)
I remember when we were young, the movie we were EXTREMELY afraid of was "Willow" (we still are terribly afraid, and haven't overcome that fear quite yet), which was incredibly creepy as a young little squirt.
If you have seen it, you know the wolves in the movie?
Well when we were little we use to dress up and pretend that the wolves were the lawn mover, and we would jump from rock to rock running away from it!
What is it about that movie that has moved me so, you ask?
All I learned from that movie is wolves chase innocent people, a baby is found, little people go on an adventure, a lady is a rat, everyone turns to pigs, and somehow the movie ends good.
Yeah then she made me play house every DAY of my life!! I can't remember what I wanted to do instead... but I do remember as a kid being stuck inside all the time playing house!
Oh if you happen to talk to her, ask her about her PIG dream. Quite scary if I must say so myself, and you'll need to hear it from her.
As you know we grew up together, and in high school we were probably the most distant from each other.
I was in sports (soccer and track), and random artsy stuff when she was in choir and plays!
Of course we still had the same tight knit group of girl friends, just different good/side friends which is fine :)
I'm so glad we have been able to stay friends for this long, I'm very grateful to have her in my life and one of my best buds.
She is going to CHINA for how long?... Oh yeah TOO LONG. She's leaving in January/February, and I'm pretty sure I'm falling into a deep depression just thinking about being parted from her. The only way we will be able to keep in contact is through her blog, and possible skype. Man I will miss her way too much.

Day 22 – A picture that confuses you

This picture confuses me like crazy, and I haven't quite figured it out yet.
From L-R: Haley Haws, Heather Holman, me, and Kelsey Donaldson, on halloween of 09.
If you look carefully, Miss Haws is definitely missing a leg.
I'm not sure why, or how in the heck she did it, but it happened.
We've discussed it in the past, and either she hasn't told me where her leg went or she is lying to me.
And if you know Haley Haws she doesn't lie.
So this is my confusing picture, as weird as it is!

Day 21 – A picture of something that makes you happy

This picture makes me VERY happy.
It was true aggie night (Oct 22, week of homecoming), and I was at my best friend Heather Holman's apartment!
All of the sudden we hear this knock on the door, with LOUD music playing outside.
Little did we know what we had gotten ourselves into...
There was this rather large boom box playing music extremely loud, and twenty plus people dancing to it!
We followed it for approximately two whole hours, I'm not even joking.
For those two hours we all knocked on everyones door we could, getting them all to follow. We had SOOO many people at the end! CRAZY.
They played all kinds of music! Some MJ, pump up, but mostly dance music of course!!
Oh, for those of you who don't know what 'true aggie night' is...
There is this 'A' on campus where people line up to kiss someone of the opposite sex on, in between midnight and one a.m.
In order for you to become a true aggie, you have to kiss one first!
EXCEPT for the Friday of homecoming week, and A week.
Bottom line is we danced for two whole hours, with tons of people we didn't know.
USU is the best
This is the A ☺

Day 20 – A picture of somewhere you’d love to travel

 SWEDEN.

I'm really hoping I'll still be able to go!
I'm still planning on going...
And I found these pictures on the internet, I actually have NO idea if they're in Sweden or not.
Soooo..... I guess I'll just have to see when I hopefully go☺
Now I get asked this question a million times: "Mollie, are you going to learn Swedish soon?"
And for the record, I hear they actually speak really good? English.  Not that mine is the best either... People in Sweden are required to learn English I heard! Actually I know thats a fact.
BUT I did skype a couple of people (TJ's parents who are setting us up with members to live with), and they helped answer any questions I had, or my parents had.
It was extremely nice to talk to them!
I also plan on doing service activities over there, on top of nannying for the people I'll be staying with. In other words its not going to be a giant party the whole time!

Day 19 – A picture of someone you miss

These are my grandparents on my fathers side. My grandpa Bob is still alive, and I believe he will turn 85? soon. My grandma June passed away quite a while ago, and I wish she was still here.
She was the worry wart in the family....
I think (this might be wrong but I could be right!) she would worry so much, my parents wouldn't tell her when we'd leave for a vacation.
In fact, that is how she passed away.
She had a blood clot in her brain, and thats all I really remember! I was pretty young when it happened.
That is why I miss her, I can't wait to meet her again :)

Day 18 – A picture of the cast of your favorite show.

Gossip Girl is my ultimate favorite show :) I watch Gilmore Girls with my current roommates, its just not the same.
Last year my roommates were obsessed with it, and it was wonderful. The downfall was we didn't have cable, so we had to borrow them all. There's just so much drama, gotta love it!
My second favorites would have to be Gilmore Girls and tied with That 70's Show. All I would highly recommend :)

Day 17 – Your favorite song

I'm kinda weird when it comes to music.
I'm never up to date on the latest music, and I'm not obsessed with it. Don't get me wrong, I do love music! It's usually my dad that lets me know about the latest new song. Shouldn't it be the other way around?...
Anyways, since I'm not obsessed with music I usually listen to the old stuff. I like what my dad is into, basically.
Old 80's and 90's music is where its at! I'm going through a Tom Petty phase right now, and I'm probably driving Kelsey crazy but oh well :)
I also listen to Death Cab and Jewels old 90's music. Oh, every time I drive home to Morgan with Kelsey we sing The Beatles at the top of our lungs, which is always fun.
Other stuff I listen to is my old ballet music, which I miss deeply. I wish I was dancing again....
I'd have to say my top two favorite songs (which I tried picking my VERY favorite, I just could't do it) don't even sing at all. Its mostly piano music, and they're both off of soundtracks. I have listened to these songs a million and a half times, I'm not even joking. I play them over and over and over again, and I haven't ever gotten sick of them.
One of my favorite songs is called The Meadow, and it is off of the New Moon soundtrack. Alexandre Desplat is one amazing composer... My other favorite would have to be Bella's Lullaby by Carter Burwell, the first version of the Bella's Lullaby off of the Twilight soundtrack. I'm not sure why my two favorite songs are from the Twilight saga series, but oh well. They're both such pretty songs, I love em so much.

Day 16 – Someone you would want to switch lives w/ for one day and why

Wellllll.... Here's the thing. I have THE hardest time thinking of people for these questions!! They're tough. So with a lot of thinking, I came up with someone!
Impressed??
You should be, because it was difficult.
My conclusion would be: my grandma! Doris Carter Sanders.
Because, she's an awesome lady! And she has experienced life. A lot.
Ok she's 78 years old, and already trying to plan her 80th birthday party. If you know my grandma, she's a partier.
My mom says I get it from her.... which isn't a bad thing :)
She's still goin like crazy! My goal in life is to learn from her, just because she knows so much.
One thing I LOVE about her is her outgoing personality!
She has way too many friends.
For example: I helped serve ice cream this summer at my grandparents 60th anniversary, and holy cow I've never seen so many old people get together in one place like that before.
Then she also knows how to stay healthy, which I think is a great and super hard habit to get into.
During the summer she gets together with 7 or 8 older women, and does swimming exercises in her pool. She also goes on walks, and loves to take care of my grandpa.

Man, what a lady.

Day 15 – A picture of something you want to do before you die

Myself and some man?
So....  I couldn't find a good picture of an older missionary couple, but this is what I got.
It looks extremely ridiculous, I'm so sorry haha!
I doubt I'm supposed to go on a mission when I turn twenty one, but yet again that time has not come quite yet.
But I'd LOVE to serve a mission with my husband when I get older, a lot older.
I see it being an amazing opportunity, and I hope we take it together.

Day 14 – Picture of someone you could never imagine your life without

Supporting me in track in high school
Since I've already blogged about my mom and sister, I might as well have this one be about my father :)
He's the kind of dad where I think, "Dang. I want to find a guy to marry that has these same qualities my dad has: awesome, respectful, patient, loving, selfless, in tune with the spirit, and an active priesthood holder."
Kinda cheesy and I could make a longer list, but it's true and you get the point.
My dad is a one-of-a-kind for sure.
Like I said in my earlier blogs, my family has been through a lot together....
With my mom going through cancer, my dad was there through everything.
Family pics in 2009
He supported my mom while she was terribly sick, and could barely move.
He made sure we were fed, and the house was kept as tidy as we could keep it.
My youngest sister was 5? at the time, and he did the best "motherly"role he could, with being a male and all. (which is really hard to imagine, trust me he did the best he could ;))
My dad is such a great influence in my life, and I'm so grateful for him and for all the sacrifices he's made for me and my sisters.

Day 13 – A picture of something you hate

I absolutely HATE with a passion: scary movies. There is one exception of course... and only if there is a man/guy to hold/cuddle with. I mean, who really wants to watch a scary movie alone??
Not me.
Definitely not.
Also I'm not the biggest fans of sharks either....
They are kinda cool though. I mean, look at all those teeth!! I just wouldn't want to be in them.
