Emma Elaine: 13 Months + Easter Party

I don't know if I will continue to update you all on Emma every month, but I still want to remember all the little things she is learning, doing, and saying everyday. Gosh I just love this girl! I look at her all the time and think, "Wow. I MADE her. She is all mine to take care of, nurture, and love!" Then I get overwhelmed with how much I love her... and I usually cry ;) #emotionalmommuch

Emma's sleeping schedule right now is not fun! She is in this weird phase of transitioning from 2 naps a day to 1. The hard part about it is if she wakes up earlier than normal I think, "Oh today will definitely be a 2 nap day!" THEN she likes to lay in bed and talk to herself for a couple hours during that second nap... I mean, she never cries but it is frustrating when she is awake from 10:30-11 until she goes to bed around 7. I think it's mostly my fault.. haha! I am having more of a hard time letting go of that second nap than she is!

Right now Emma is obsessed with our cat Cheeto. She will follow her around the apartment if she could! She definitely tries ;) I find it funny because Cheeto is still annoyed with Emma, ever since we brought her home from the hospital she's been jealous! So Cheeto doesn't like Emma but Emma loves Cheeto. Such a weird relationship they have! I'll say, "Emma, where's the kitty??" She will hurry and look around trying to find Cheeto! When she finds her she'll point with her left hand and say, "Kah!" Or sometimes she'll even say kitty.

Emma is SO close to walking. So so so close. I am really excited, just because life will be easier when she can walk and play outside. Emma still prefers to scoot around, but she is super steady when she walks and does more and more everyday. Spring is coming at the perfect time I think! Emma will be able to walk outside and play, instead of scoot! I have heard from so many people about walking being so negative... and I think that is kind of sad to look at a huge milestone so negatively... like how they can run away and all that fun stuff. I am more excited for Emma and all the possibilities walking around will do for her :)

Some of my favorite parts of the day are when I pick Emma up from her bed when she's newly awake. She is so sweet and extra happy (if that's possible haha!) and I love getting extra snuggles from her then. Emma is so wiggly and playful these days, I miss snuggling her so much! My other favorite parts of the day is when I give Emma her Välling. It is like a cereal drink to help fill her up at night to help her sleep! I love it because she cuddles up to me on the couch while she drinks it before bed and in the morning for breakfast.

Emma is quite a social girl! Sometimes when we're at the store she'll point to people, trying to get them to say hi to her. She is also constantly waving... without me saying, "Say hi!" I asked Joel what he wants to remember Emma at this age in life and he said, "When she kicks and giggles when I throw and play with her in the air!" Her little legs go 90 miles an hour kicking and it's just so dang cute how happy she gets when he comes home and plays with her. I always want to remember how much she wants to share with me. She gives me EVERYTHING from the tiniest little crumb on the floor to her favorite bunny she sleeps with. Emma is always giving me loves and kisses, and my heart melts every time she does. I love the way Emma will take anything, put it on the ground, put her face on it, and lay on the ground as she cuddles whatever she's laying on! She only does it for a split second, so every time I whip out my phone to take a picture she's already sitting up.

We had our easter party this past weekend at Joel's mormor and morfar's house (in English that's mom's mom and mom's dad). They live in the most typical Swedish home in the country side, and we absolutely love going there! There's no phone reception, and it is nice to relax there and take a break from the outside world. Here are the most recent pictures of Emma from our party if you'd like to see!:

She's waving here haha^^^
