Time for an Update: Life in California

Hello there!! Long time no see!

We've been quite busy, and now I feel as though life has slowed down a bit as we settle into our routines here in California.

Joel usually goes to work around 10 in the morning, and returns home around 11 at night. In the beginning that was tough on me, being home with the kids all day. Now that we've gotten use to our routines more, him being gone has gotten a bit easier. Usually I try to keep us active and outside as much as possible so we don't go too crazy! I try to plan an activity for the morning and then one in the evening, since Emma "sometimes" still naps during the afternoon. Oh how sad I am that she is dropping that precious nap that we both need. Even if she doesn't sleep, I still put her down in her bed and let her "rest"... mainly because we both need a break from each other ;) Because we sold everything in Sweden, I have had to buy everything for our apartment all over again. We usually make a Target run multiple times a week, which I don't mind!

The pool in our apartment complex is about 10 steps away from our apartment, if that... which I am extremely grateful for!! I feel like it is easier to make it to the pool with two kids since it is so close. We usually go to the pool during Williams nap time so he can sleep in the stroller in the shade while I focus on Emma. Emma loves the water, and always says "bye bye wah wah!" and waves when we walk past the pool to go to our car.

All in all, we are so happy to be here in California enjoying this nice weather! If you've lived or live in Sweden, you've felt that pressure to go out and enjoy the weather when it's nice out, just because it is so rare. When the weather is nice in Sweden you just have to go out! I still feel that same stress sometimes, so we've been outside a lot ;) I've loved meeting new people and exploring the area we live in. Even though I miss Joel like crazy and I am aching for him to experience this summer with us, I know all his hard work will be so worth it in the end!!

Here are a few pictures of what we've been up to lately:

That smile though!!!

Always finding planes, helicopters, and the moon.

I got my swimming suit at DOWNEAST. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to get it! I have seriously never felt more comfortable or confident in a swimming suit before!

Sneaking a kiss goodbye before leaving for work!

I love how Emma's suit matches our little pool perfectly!!

Most likely pointing to a plane, helicopter, or the moon. She is always pointing them out to me and won't stop talking until I notice she's saying something ;)
