Day 05 – A picture of somewhere you’ve been to

The summer after my senior year in High School, I was able to attend a church history tour!! This tour changed my life for the better, and my testimony has grown immensely because of it. I had soooo many great experiences, I wish I could share them all. But I will limit them all down to one, and I'm sure you'll hear of more in the future :) The tour was 19 days long, with 56 other people I barely knew. This is the Kirtland temple, and it is currently owned by the Church of Christ (or the RLDS church I believe). They allow tours to go through, which in my opinion is sad. The temple should be a sacred and holy place, and the Kirtland temple still kinda is but at the same time not really. For instance, I went to the Washington D.C. temple, and I needed a temple recommend to enter. In the Kirtland, anyone can go through and there is definitely a different spirit there. Its not bad or anything, just different.
Anyways.... there was a tour group of 56 of us (50 were teens), and we got to go through the first two stories like everyone else. BUT... here comes the amazing part. My tour guide, Brother Tesch, has been doing this tour for the past 36 years, and has done 38 plus tours. So I guess you can say he knows what he is doing.
Brother Tesch is really good friends with the guy who operates the tours for the RLDS church, and since they're way good friends our tour gets to do something not everyone is able to. We got to go to the top floor :) It might not sound like that big of a deal, but to us it was. We were able to go to the room where Joseph Smith received a ton of revelation for the book of Mormon and such, and the Lord appeared to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery in the top floor of the Kirtland Temple. When we all got up to the 3rd floor, the spirit was amazing. It was so strong, and everyone was touched deeply. The church is true :)

Day 04 – A habit that you wish you didn’t have

A habit I wish I didn't have.... I don't really know. I've been racking my brain all day, with no luck. Finally I started asking people. Like my roommates, and my wonderful mother. My roommate told me she didn't know me well enough, and I've lived with her for a year and a half!! How could she NOT know me. *cough *cough KELSEY.

AND my mom hung up on me, which was no help at all. I mean, who really hangs up on their daughter that they rarely see?! Not to mention I'm the favorite child, obviously.

So I was left to figure this one out on my own. A habit that I HATE hate hate HATE that I have: I have extremely dry lips and I pick at them. They're always dry, and I have yet to find a chap stick that really works! I hate this habit. With a passion.

We've had wayyyyy too many fun times together :)
AND, I don't plan on stopping them.

Love her.

She be one of my best friends :)

Day 02 – A really good memory

Alyssa and I at the restaurant in Rexburg
Hummmmm..... I had a hard time picking a "really good memory". I finally decided on one, luckily. Man I wish I could redo or relive this memory I enjoyed it sooooo much. At the end of spring semester of 2010, 5 girls and 5 guys traveled about 3 hours up to Ashton, Idaho. Then we arrived at Dave's house, and he being the awesome man he is, took us out on a wagon ride right as the sun was setting. Dave has a million and one of the same dogs, and I forgot what they were called. He had a certain whistle and everything for calling these "cattle herding?" dogs.
When we got back from our "sleigh ride" we ate dinner and played games VERY late into the night on Friday. And to tell you the truth I'm not a big game person, because I'm secretly so competitive on the inside that when I lose I pretend like I'm not, if that makes any sense. We organized rides to fit us all somehow, and got on up there on a Friday night. Her grandparents took us ALL out to dinner in Rexburg, which was very nice.

The gang at mesa falls:)
Wagon ride with Dave! (and heather attempting to learn how to drive)
The next morning we were up bright and early! We did SOOOO much this day, I don't even know where to start. Well I think at the time 10 is PLENTY early after that long night. I awoke to the lovely smell of everything imaginable, and got out there a ridin!
GORGEOUS
That was also the day I almost faced death. Twice. Dave dared me to jump on the back of Joshua Hall's horse next to the wagon. Little did I know I would almost fall off, and Kera would have to come save me. I turned out alright I guess, but I will NOT be doing it again anytime soon. Today (this is STILL Saturday) was also the day we went to Mesa falls. All the guys had to be all tough and throw ice, which I didn't understand but oh well. Gotta love them, right?? Also on Saturday I had the chance to shoot my first gun! I was horrible. Worse than horrible, if you can imagine. I had a blast, none the less. This was also the day I rode a super smooth horse, and almost fell off again. Lets just say I love horses and it was a blast, but I'm good on riding for a little bit :)
Troy and Kendall. Look at them go....
What a bunch of happy campers!

Troy needs some boots!! Oh how we made fun of him....

I probably loved the puppies more than the horses
One day old puppies

This is when I almost died.... with Kera to the rescue!!

Day 01 – A recent photo of you and 15 interesting facts about yourself

Myself and Joshua Hall
Oh dear where to start... I would have to say this is a pretty recent picture of myself with one of my most favorite people EVER. (yes I know you already saw this picture but oh well you get to see it again because I LOVE it)
ANYWAYS....
Fact numba 1) I like my feet, or just feet in general. They don't bug me or gross me out. In fact, I kinda look forward to the day when I get to rub my husbands feet.
2) I love to smell my hair, especially when I'm bored. Now you can tell if I'm bored if I start smelling my hair.
3)I love classical music. Especially the music I use to dance to in ballet.
4) My first concert was The Wiggles! It was in 6th grade and I was super embarrassed to be going, I even remember walking through the halls with my head down knowing where I was heading. Once I got there with my dads side of the family, it was an amazing concert and I had a blast!!
5) I love my hair. Everyone tries to get me to cut it, and I know I would regret it. So I don't :)
6) Every time I drive home with Kelsey we sing to The Beatles at the top of our lungs. We currently have EVERY SINGLE word down on the album "Sargent Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band" down.
7) I rarely get acne. My skin is soooo dry that it dries everything out haha
8) I'm known for my good back rubs and back scratches. I guess I have strong thumbs and long nails!
9) I could be a morning person if I wanted to. I use to be at the beginning of the school year, but yeah it didn't last very long
10) I love my mom, and I'm very grateful for her :) She's a breast cancer survivor and we've been through a lot as a family.
11) I'm not a very bossy person. I like to go with the flow with a lot of things, but I do voice my opinion when needed.
12) My old lady name is Mildred. My roommates and I all gave each other old lady names. Weird.
13) My favorite movie of all time is "Ever After". Never EVER gets old :)
14) I think a little scruff on a man is VERRRRY attractive. Very.
15) Don't feed me popcorn.

People are just.... Awkward.

I had an experience the other day, and the more I think about it, the more I realize it happens a lot more than I know.
Have you ever walked, well never mind of course you have. So lets say you were walking, just down the street. Or on campus, whichever you prefer. Someone is walking towards you, and in my case lets say he is a man/guy/boy..... you get the point. He looks pretty cute, but you can't tell because he's still a little further away. As you near each other, you feel as though you have been staring him down, which you have. Then the thought comes into your mind, "Oh dear, he knows I've been checking him out!" Now your scenario doesn't have to match this exactly, I just want to explain my point of view, and what usually happens to me.
Now he can feel you've been looking at him, and soon the most awkward part of this story comes into play. -Should you make eye contact? -If so, how early? -If you make eye contact early enough, you could be staring at each other a lot longer than needed, and thus resulting in an awkward stare. -Or if you try to look too early also, and he doesn't look, then the awkward feeling settles in no matter what and you feel like a retard. -If you make eye contact too late, you could definitely miss your opportunity of any contact at all and just stare at him as he passes by. -If you decide not to make eye contact whatsoever, you come come off as rude, ya know? -You don't know if he's ever going to look or not! -But what if you don't want to make eye contact anyways? All that staring and attempting to find out a lot about this person has completely gone down the drain. Oh the complicated thoughts of a girls mind.....................
There are many more "scenarios" in which this awkward passing-by can occur, but either way I figured you're doomed. You never know how early or late to look at the other person, ever. I bet you have a 1 in 50 chances of an awkward passing NOT happening, just a wild guess. So, good luck to ya!

Sweden?... Yes Please!

TJ and Sherry
These people are basically amazing. Why, do you say?? Because they are helping me move to Sweden in May. TJ grew up there, and he's still working out the kinks.... There are 5 of us planning on moving:) Myself, Heather Holman, Kelsey Donaldson,  Michelle Boyer, and Alyssa Davidson! We're planning on living there for 3-8 months, crazy eh? TJ is talking with his parents about letting us stay with them, his siblings, or other church members. Can I tell you how excited I am?! A lot. I hope it'll all work out.... :)

I Will Follow You Into The Dark

I had the pleasure to attend BYU to visit my best friends (Autumn Rae Barnes and Haley Freakin' Haws) with Kelsey Anne Donaldson. We did pretty much everything.... From yoga (as seen in the picture) to a dollar movie (Knight and Day) and of course, plenty of dancing! I grew to love their roommates soooo much, they are wonderful :) They also got me addicted to Veronica Mars, which I probably won't watch again but I'll secretly be addicted anyways. I almost ran a 5K! I thought about it, and it almost came true. Does that count for running one?...........

Did I ever mention that I LOVE my friends??
Well I do have the best friends EVER..... not to be bragging or anything........

This morning I walked, jogged, and ran up/down a mountain.... ok I just went on a hike up to the wind caves in the canyon. Man was it gorgeous, I can't even explain. I wish we had taken a camera! I would highly recommend going if you haven't.

Last night I happened to go on a date in Centerville. Kinda random considering the fact that I live in Logan?? Yeah I thought so too. My best friend Heather lined me up on a blind date (who lives in Provo), so the date was already off to an awkward start. We didn't even know the date was IN Centerville, until we were on the road around 6pm. Her date didn't want to tell us where the date was at, because he feared we would bail.  So we got to Centerville around 7:30, and VERY surprised to see about 40 people in this house. As it turns out, we were going on a HUGE scavenger hunt. Heather's date's best friend's family (sorry if that sounds confusing, and trust me it was) has been doing this scavenger hunt for 20 plus years. I guess you could say I was extremely nervous, knowing only Heather that night. This is a big deal, it went all over Centerville, and Farmington!! There were a total of 8 clues altogether, and centered around Halloween. Mostly Dracula, and stuff like that. These clues were WAY hard to find. They were on really random things! Like Viewmont's tennis nets to an ice box at Maverick. We didn't end up winning, but still got free food after :)

....Goodbyes...............

Today my best friend entered the MTC. Nuff said. It was tough..... I cried a ton, but then I realized its all good :) He's in the right place, doing the right thing, at the right time. The people of Spain are sooooo lucky to have him!! We lived next to each other our freshman year of college, and grew really close over the summer. Dang I'm going to miss him.

Lately I've been thinking about changing my major. Right now I'm in art.... then I realized I like it a lot and I love my classes, I'm just not that passionate about art. I don't know what I would do in life, or if it would be a good career choice. I've talked with my parents about my life, and my mom mentioned working with people. The more I think about it, the more I like the sound of it. I loooove talking with people so much! Like today at wal-mart... I made friends with this 85 year old man and he gave me some candy. I had this cowboy hat on and he kept on talking about his horses up in Preston, man was he nice. I'm not sure what I could do, but it's just at the back of my mind at the moment :)
