After this incident occurred I was with Joel and he said, "Mollie! Hurry and look to the left!" (there was a pretty sunrise goin on) and I looked to the right. Yep. Still tired I guess! And I missed the sunrise.
I have also started forgetting little things here and there. Is this what pregnancy brain is?... If so, it does not work well with being tired.
So I felt like doing those baby questions again! Gives me something to blog about other than more random and embarrassing stories ;)
How far along? 19 weeks. Basically/almost halfway there!!!
Size of the baby? a bell pepper, large mango, dragon fruit, or a pickle. Take your pick :) Yes, my apps are confusing! Basically she is 15 cm, or 6 inches I think :)
Weight gain/loss? I still have no idea, and I am kiiiinda scared to look. I know I am gaining weight of course, but it is still hard seeing those numbers go up to places I have never seen before. I am trying to be extra cautious of how much I eat (because I want to eat EVERYTHING. For five people, too) soooooo hopefully the weight gain is going to the "right places"
Sleep? Better. I'm not waking up near as much to pee, but I did have my first leg cramp this morning waking up.
Best moment of the week? Finding out our baby is a GIRL. We may have a name already picked out, but it isn't set in stone yet! Also feeling her move more and more!! I for sure thought she was a boy... I still don't think I have grasped it all yet. At the ultrasound last Tuesday they needed to get a measurement of her head, the most important measurement to track how she is growing. Unfortunately for the nurses her head was kinda stuck behind my hip bone somehow, so they tried and tried to shake her to get her to move. I felt bad because they were so frustrated, but at the same time two wonderful things occurred!! I went up to go to the bathroom to see if her head would move, and when I came back her legs moved so we could see if the baby was a boy or girl!! Before I was so so sad because her legs wouldn't budge either, and we would have had to pay 400kr (60$) to go to a specialist another day to check the gender. But her head was still in the same position, so I get to come back for another ultrasound in a couple weeks! So I get to see her again hehe :)
Symptoms? Oh do I still have a sensitive nose! I have a hard time being with a large group of people unfortunately, just because of all the smells they bring I guess. Church is probably the hardest for me. Oh, and riding the bus and train. People really stink on those things haha. I feel like I am in this perfect stage of pregnancy right now! People keep on asking me if I am sick, and I am long past that (hopefully haha). I'm not huge yet, my back doesn't hurt and I feel her move all the time. Not as much pain, and I feel the baby. I'd say pregnancy is perfect right now haha!
Food cravings/aversions? No super strong cravings yet, although buffalo wings sound divine right now, and I guess the past few days actually. I also can't stand the smell of coconut cream. Super weird.
Labor signs? Nada (thank goodness!)
What I miss? Being able to smell normally.
What I am looking forward to? starting to buy things for her!!
Nursery? Nothing yet :( It's times like this where I wish I had my mom and sisters to come shopping with me. But, I do have a wonderful sister-in-law and mother-in-law that can help too ;) I did go into the baby store for the first time a few days ago (I have been forcing myself to stay away until we found out what the gender was.. and now that I know I just couldn't stay away any longer!!) and got SUPER overwhelmed. I realized how much we have to buy. I just don't know where to start!! Any suggestions?? I tried narrowing everything down to the necessities when she comes, but even that was overwhelming.
And here is our little girl! with her stubborn head in an inconvenient position ;)
3 notes:
I'm so glad she moved so you could see her :) and I'm glad she didn't move too much so you get to see her again ;) Ultrasounds are such a fun part of pregnancy. I'm happy you're feeling so good right now! That's so awesome.
Oh also, I found this little book that has a list of everything you need and then things that are extras and it has helped me feel not so overwhelmed. If you want, I can email you a copy of the list or something :)
So fun! I know how overwhelming it can feel to think about all the things that you have to buy - but honestly we didn't use very many of the things on all those "must have lists" you find. As long as you have some blankets, some diapers, and some wipes - you'll be fine. We didn't use a crib for the first 4-5 months - we just used a pack and play with a bassinet attachment. (I was shocked when I realized that we didn't have to buy a crib right off. I didn't know that you could just use a bassinet.) Start little and then buy things as you need them. (Obviously you should balance this with being prepared so that you aren't stressing out - but I guess I'm just trying to say that you dont have to do it all right now.) Sorry for the novel-long comment!
